BETH CORSON, MANAGING PARTNER
An alumnus of Ernst & Young, Corson has spent the last 20 years dedicated to working with small start-up operations and profitable emerging growth firms throughout the country. In 2005, she founded Boardwalk Advisors, a boutique consulting firm, in order to meet the needs of numerous start-ups and emerging growth companies who were seeking her level of expertise to scale or raise start-up capital. With an in-depth understanding of financial modeling and a first-hand knowledge of what investors are looking for, Corson leads the Boardwalk team in providing management consulting, strategic advisory, and business planning services to clients in a variety of industries nationwide.
She has worked with more than 100 life science and technology start-up companies in the Florida area over the last decade. During her career, she has raised over $75 million in private debt and equity funding. Prior to starting Boardwalk, she held senior executive positions for companies with annual revenues from $100 million to $500 million. While at Ernst & Young, Corson served on some of the firm’s largest audit clients in the West Palm Beach, Florida and San Diego, California offices. Her experience includes purchase and pooling business combinations, numerous mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, integration and conversion of accounting systems, SEC filings such as 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-4, and S-8, SEC and regulatory compliance reporting. For certain newly public companies, Corson drafted their entire initial 10-K and 10-Q filings. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for several companies. In 2017, she founded a Palm Beach investor network which was originally a chapter of the Florida Angel Nexus. She continues to host pitching sessions, bringing together local investors with promising entrepreneurs from all over the country.
ZHENG CAO, PARTNER
Cao has over fourteen years of experience in business planning, financial forecasting, and accounting services. As a Boardwalk Advisors partner, she brings an innate ability to hone in on businesses’ and entrepreneur’s individual growth needs, and develop a plan tailored to that vision.
Formerly with Ernst & Young, Cao is experienced in providing quality audit and assurance services to a variety of clients in Insurance, Financial Services, Consumer Products, and other industries. It’s this experience that she brings to Boardwalk clients for designing financial forecasts for even the most complex business models. She was also a consultant with Advanced Financial Solutions where she performed large-scale clean-up accounting services to comply with GAAP for companies with greater than $800 million in revenue.
She spent six years as Director of Accounting for Special Projects for Coverall North America, Inc. Cao is bilingual–fluent in Chinese.
JOANIE SANTA CRUZ, FINANCE
Santa Cruz has a business management background spanning over 20 years with a focus on accounting and financial planning for multiple industries. She has worked with companies with revenues from $900,000 to $16 million. She is an expert in various accounting software applications.
Santa Cruz handles financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial administration records on a regular basis, including historical and projected cash flow. She manages accounts payable and receivable, adjusting journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, bank statement reconciliations, and monthly financial statements for new and long-time Boardwalk clients.
KATHY GORDON, RESEARCH & WRITER
Kathy Gordon is a business researcher and writer and has been a part of the Boardwalk Advisors, LLC family for seven years.
Gordon has a wide variety of experience included working with clients in the biomedical industry, health and beauty industry, construction industry, entertainment industry, education fields, SaaS, retail and consumer products industries. Gordon primarily spends time working on research for client slide decks and writing business plans. Gordon has experience writing grants and specific, focused content for clients.
Gordon has worked with many serial entrepreneurs during her tenure at Boardwalk Advisors. “Whatever needs to happen to help our clients and support Boardwalk Advisors is what I like to do.”
GARRETT GEIST, WRITER
Garrett Geist is a business writer and researcher, with a focus on comprehensive business plans for emerging growth companies.
Geist has completed over 500 hours of industry and financial research for various clients during his time at Boardwalk Advisors, LLC. His business plans have assisted in successful funding for a number of Boardwalk clients. Geist also has experience with compiling slide decks for investor presentations including Thunder Studios, Botanika, Viesel Fuel, and Integrity Implants – a medical implant device company. His experience covers a number of industries including biodiesel, medical technologies, entertainment, food, aquaculture and more.
ROSE HORVATH, PROJECT MANAGER
A member of the Boardwalk team since 2017, Rose Horvath is our lead business consultant and project manager. Her years of experience have included working with start-up companies across the country in industries varying from Aerospace and Defense, to Pharmaceuticals, to Entertainment and Transportation. Horvath joined the Boardwalk team full-time after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Rinker School of Business with a degree in Marketing. Previously, she served as a coordinator for the Florida Angel Nexus Palm Beach chapter, building relationships with investors across the state of Florida. Her extensive skills in the areas of market research, writing, investor relations and strategy continue to prove a vital asset to the Boardwalk Team.
JORDYN PARK, RESEARCH SPECIALIST
Park relocated to West Palm Beach from Great Falls, Virginia to join the Boardwalk team in June of 2021 as our research specialist. She previously attended Dickinson College where she double-majored and graduated with a degree in English and Economics . Since beginning her time at Boardwalk, she has worked with companies from multiple countries operating in various industries including Pharmaceuticals, Interior Design, Medical Device, Transportation, and more. Park is Boardwalk’s lead research specialist and is highly skilled in the areas of business plan writing and market analysis in addition to slide deck design.
